Save tree
Once a completely barren village in the desert state of Rajasthan, Piplantri now has over 300,000 trees, which has not only ensured better air quality and attracted biodiversity, but also the birth of a girl child is celebrated with the planting of 111 trees—and the initiative has transformed the ecology of the village.
Plants grown so far 300000 including Neem, Sheesham, Mango, Amla among others.
Connecting everyone to the nature, sharing love, care and happiness.
The initiative has also helped the town’s economy. To keep termites away from the trees, many of which bear fruit, the village has planted more than 2.5 million Aloe vera plants around them. Gradually, the villagers realized that Aloe vera could be processed and marketed in a variety of ways. So the community now produces and markets aloe-based products like juice and gel, among other things.
Local volunteers, most of them women, plant the trees; they receive a small stipend from the government for their efforts. Today, bright forests flank the village, and some of the crops, like aloe vera, have been remarkably profitable. Soil quality has improved, rendering difficult-to-farm land increasingly tenable
